Whilst it is often overshadowed by its glitzier neighbours along the Sunshine Coast, Caloundra has quite a thriving bar & restaurant scene and most of the best spots are within walking distance of the park. Drift Bar always makes for a great time when we visit for an afternoon cocktail or beer, often with live music and always with a beautiful view of the beach. Three Restaurant is a favourite for dinner, steak lovers will be in their natural habitat with multiple choices from the grill. If you’re after something quick and casual, head to Hello Harry for one of the best burgers you will ever have. Within the park there’s some great touches from a hospitality perspective with a Coffee Cart keeping you going from 6am daily, Pancakes cooked up for a gold coin donation breakfast on Thursdays and a Pizza Van operating from Thursday to Saturday evenings. 

As always with these fantastic resort style parks, there is plenty to do on site. The pool is great for kids of all ages, with a longer than usual shallow end for the little ones. The bigger kids will love speeding down the waterslides, whilst those who prefer to relax when it comes to time at the pool will be very happy with the large number of sun lounges available with great views over the pool and to the beach. The beach itself has a great path to walk along and explore, whether it’s a gentle morning stroll or you're keen to cruise a bit further on a bike. Beyond the beach that the park is located on, Caloundra is also home to several other great beaches, several of which are known for their surf. During School Holidays there’s several activities for kids organised at the park, last time we were there the team from Wildlife Unleashed hosted an educational animal show, where we got the chance to get up close and personal with birds and snakes. There are several regular markets that run in Caloundra, our favourite is the Caloundra Street Fair which runs every Sunday and happens to be located on the same street as the park. Here you’ll find a variety of handmade crafts and homewares, fresh produce and ready to go food.

There can be some noise from a busy street if you’re in a site or cabin at the northern end of the park so if it’s important to you to be in a quieter spot, note this with the management team ahead of time and they’ll be more than happy to accommodate your request if they have availability.
