Eat & Drink

We love to start the day making the short walk from the park to The Island Surf & Espresso who serve up the best coffee in the area and (in our opinion) some of the best in the entire Sunshine Coast. Grab a takeaway coffee and if you’re hungry one of the cabinet items on offer (think breakfast bagels and ham and cheese croissants) and walk directly over the road to enjoy it on the beach. Come dinner time there’s a few options spread along the Esplanade, and at least one night per trip you’ll find us at Florentina’s Trattoria enjoying one of their delicious Pizzas. 5 minutes drive (or an easy 25 minutes by foot) away in nearby Twin Waters you’ll find The Loose Goose which is well worth a visit for a longer lunch or dinner, a fine dining experience without the fine dining bill. You can’t go wrong with your dish selection here but we highly recommend the Risotto with Calamari, Prawns, Scallops & Smoked Barramundi.

To Do List

Despite its location in one of the most popular stretches of coast in Australia, Mudjimba Beach itself feels like it remains somewhat of a hidden gem. Patrolled daily, this stretch of beautiful white sand is the quintessential Australian beach and perfect for relaxing in the sand or a dip in the water. If you’re feeling more active than that, there’s various surf breaks and fishing spots also along the beach - ask the team at the park for advice on the best ones. If you’re a golfer be sure to pack your clubs as Twin Waters Golf Club is just 5 minutes away by car. It's rated as one of the top six resort courses in Australia. If you haven’t brought your clubs but are still keen to play, you can of course hire some starting at $17 for 9 holes (on top of your green fees).

Heads Up

The park is located at Carlo Point, a secluded spot roughly 4km away from the town of Rainbow Beach. There’s a reasonably well stocked kiosk on site, but we’d suggest you come with your provisions if you’re not wanting to hop in the car during your stay.
