ParkBooker Pick
Cabin accommodation here is good but basic, so we recommend coming with a Caravan or Motorhome if you can and going for one of the Powered Sites. Sites 141-145 are on the more spacious end also amongst the quieter spots thanks to their location, whilst it seems they’re in the middle of everything several other sites are very close to the Tavern or to the common facilities which these are not.
Pricing
Powered Sites from $48 per night, Cabins & Villas from $150 per night.

Eat & Drink
Tasmania is an entire state filled with great food and wine, and much of this stems from the great produce available, particularly seafood. The nearby Freycinet Marine Farm is a great place to experience the local seafood, particularly Oysters and Mussels that are farmed on location. Given this is such a scenic area, our favourite thing to do is grab one of their takeaway picnic hampers and find a quiet and beautiful spot to enjoy it and enjoy the outdoors. For ultimate convenience, the Iluka Tavern located on site at the park is a family friendly pub and bistro. There’s a playground within it which always keeps the kids entertained, and meals are consistent and fresh.
To Do List
This area is all about exploring nature, particularly beautiful beaches and lush walking trails. The iconic Wineglass Bay is a familiar name on lists of the world's best beaches and for good reason. It isn’t the easiest place to get to however, you’ll need to either hike through the National Park or join a boat tour. If your preference is the latter, we recommend the team at Wineglass Bay Cruises. Their 4.5 hour tour explores all the highlights of the area, wrapping around the Freycinet National Park to Wineglass Bay passing the less well known but still beautiful Bryans Beach and Hazard Beach along the way. Whilst not as well known as Wineglass Bay, Coles Bay itself is also beautiful and a great spot for a swim or a paddle out on a kayak or SUP. If you like to fish you’re in the right place, with flathead, couta, striped trumpeter, albacore, southern bluefin tuna all able to be caught in Coles Bay.
Heads Up
We love BIG4 Parks and this one is in their “Classic” range which means it's more about location and more basic than some of their resort style offerings, so don’t expect the wide range of facilities you may find at other BIG4 Parks. That said, it is very clean and well maintained and the facilities on offer are great.
