Eat & Drink
Located about 15 minutes walk from the park near the Main Beach is 4 Kings Coffee, this is our go-to spot for our morning pick me up. We enjoy grabbing a takeaway and enjoying it by the beach or the river. There’s a selection of delicious pastries on offer or a more extensive breakfast menu if you’d like to dine in. With one of the best views in the area thanks to its location at the Surf Club, Love House Anglesea is one of our favourite spots, serving up an Asian influenced sharing style menu. You can’t go wrong with the Feed Me menu where the team will make your choices for you, but we highly recommend the Lovehouse Sticky Lamb Ribs. The restaurant also champions an important social cause with one meal donated to a child with food insecurity for every person that visits the restaurant. We can’t visit Anglesea without making at least one visit to Jums Chicken, a local takeaway store and regional institution famous for their chips and gravy, our go to after a day at the beach. For something closer to home, the recently renovated Camp Kitchen which includes several undercover BBQs is a great spot for cooking up a storm.
To Do List
There’s two different contrasting beach options in Anglesea, and our favourite is Point Roadknight, a protected spot with turquoise blue waters on a sunny day that is ideal for family members of all ages. Anglesea Main Beach is your other option, and has far more action if your preference is a surf beach. It’s patrolled on weekends, public holidays and throughout holiday periods. If you want to get to Point Roadknight you’ll likely need to hop in the car and make a short drive given the hills, but Anglesea Main Beach is easily accessed via a walking path from the park. There’s also an access path to the river which is a nice spot for a morning walk or to take out a kayak or SUP. There’s plenty of entertainment action within the park itself, particularly for the kids. There’s a huge range of facilities including a solar heated outdoor pool, mini golf, jumping pillow and basketball courts.
Heads Up
This is a large park with several permanent sites. That said, there is a bustling holiday atmosphere thanks to plenty of families of tourists. If your preference is smaller and quiet, we recommend looking elsewhere.
