ParkBooker Pick

The Glamping Pods are one of the most unique accommodation experiences you’ll find. These small and stylish curved timber huts include a Queen Size Bed, Television and small kitchenette with mini bar fridge and kettle. Whilst they don’t have their own showers or toilets (well kept communal facilities are a short walk away), this sacrifice is well worth it to be able to wake up in your bed to the sounds of the ocean just metres away. Our favourite part? The beautiful deck that faces out over the ocean, feeling like your own little slice of private paradise.

Powered Sites from $58 per night, Glamping from $110 per night, Cabins from $174 per night.

Eat & Drink

The main strip of bars, restaurants and cafes is just a short walk from the park and how favourite for a morning coffee is Torquay Larder, who also serve delicious toasties and a limited cafe menu for breakfast and lunch. Fishos is a fantastic spot for lunch, dinner or even takeaway. We love to sit out in their outdoor space and enjoy some fresh local seafood. The fish tacos are a favourite. Bomboras is fast becoming a favourite for many, a Beach Bar/Restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside a fantastic afternoon menu that runs from 3-5pm and is perfectly suited to pair with a drink in the sun. If you’re cooking within the park, despite its size its very well catered for with multiple BBQ areas and kiosks dotted throughout, as well as an extra large central camp kitchen.

To Do List

There’s no shortage of surf related activities in this famous surfing town. If you’re a keen surfer, then a trip to nearby surfing mecca Bell’s Beach should be at the top of your to-do list, or if you’re ready to catch your first wave then we always recommend the team at Go Ride A Wave Surf School. If you like the idea of surfing but aren’t keen to get into the water then head to the Australian Surfing Museum. There’s plenty of interactivity throughout the museum, and kids always love their opportunity to design and colour their surfboard at the interactive digital design table. Of course if you just want to get into the beach for a dip, that is also perfectly fine and with access to Torquay Main Beach directly from the park you are in the right place. Outside of the water there’s also plenty to do, we recommend taking a stroll along the Torquay foreshore path which connects the two main beaches in the area and will give you a great sense for what is around. For the best views we recommend the Rocky Headland Trail, a 2.1 km loop that starts near the park and takes you out over the headland giving great views over to Jan Juc before looping back along the edge of the Torquay Golf Club. Speaking of the golf club, if you’re up for a hit then it's a great spot with a flat course that is easy to get around.

Heads Up

This large park is divided into several different areas which are noted when you book a site. If you’re wanting to be closest to the beach, make sure you choose either the “Surfside” or the “Dunes” park.
