ParkBooker Pick

Recently built and perched in the perfect location sitting amongst the greenery and facing over the beach, the Water View Cabins are our pick at this park. With a sofa bed as well as two bedrooms, these are surprisingly roomy and can sleep up to six people. We particularly love the expansive decks that make for the perfect place to relax and enjoy this pristine coastal setting.

Eat & Drink

Making the 15 minute stroll over to the Marina area is always a lovely way to start the day, and whilst you’re there we think the best coffee in town is found at Wharf Street Pantry. If you’ve worked up an appetite there’s also a variety of breakfast options, ranging from a flakey croissant from the cabinet through to a more extensive breakfast menu, we love the Homemade Belgian Waffles which come with your choice of berry compote or chocolate sauce. Right on the edge of the park you’ll find a fantastic, locally run kiosk that has a great range of takeaway options dominated by their list of rolls and burgers. We can’t decide between the Bacon & Egg Breakfast Wrap or the classic Chicken Schnitzel Roll as our favourite dish - luckily, you can go for both at different times of the day. Open for all three meals of the day but our favourite for a sit down lunch or dinner is 360Q, also located in the marina area in the recently renovated ferry terminal. With a modern fit out, brilliant views and an interesting menu, this is the sort of spot that can be as suitable for a special occasion as it is for a casual lunch. The Jumbo Prawns served with avocado quinoa salad and a peri peri sauce are a must try. For some classic coastal fish & chips, make the short walk into the main street of town and go to The Original Queenscliff Fish & Chips. Be sure to call and order ahead in the busier months to save yourself a long wait, this is a popular spot.

To Do List

From the park you are just a short walk down to beautiful Queenscliff Beach, with expansive sand areas and gentle waves it's the perfect spot to bring the whole family for a swim. If you’re up for a longer walk or run, there’s a trail that runs most of the way along the beach for 4 kilometres to the neighbouring town of Point Lonsdale where you’ll find several cafes and a variety of interesting shops. The town of Queenscliff is well worth a stroll through, roughly 5 minutes walk from the park and retaining the quaint feel of the area with locally owned stores. If you happen to be here on the last Sunday of the month (in September through to May), the Queenscliff Community Market will be operating at Lower Princes Park where you’ll find over 190 stores featuring handcrafted goods, delicious food & produce and more. For the history buffs, Queenscliff Fort is well worth a visit. It’s only able to be accessed via guided tours, which last approximately 90 minutes and take you through the towers and tunnels, heritage buildings and historic cannons.

Heads Up

If you’re wanting to book across the Summer School Holiday period you’ll need to book well ahead of time as the park books out quickly. Reservations for this period open in April.
