The Safari Tents bring a whole lot of luxury to the Glamping experience, with each one including a modern kitchen and bathroom as well as a living area with flat screen TV to go with the bedroom containing a Queen Size Bed and Bunks. We particularly love the expansive verandahs that take advantage of the tranquil location on the banks of the lake that makes its way through the park.

Eat & Drink

Conveniently located across the road from the park, right on the beach is Cody’s Coffee Shack - our favourite place to get the day started with a coffee and a bite to eat, our go to is grabbing a toastie and heading over to enjoy it on the beach but there’s plenty of seats inside and out as well as a broader menu to dine in. Hervey Bay is known for its fantastic sunsets and 19XO is our go to place to enjoy one with a drink in hand, go for something of their extensive list of cocktails. For take away, we can’t go past a pizza from Santini. The classics are all great, but we highly recommend trying the Rustica - a delicious combination of Mozzarella Cheese, Mild Salami, Eggplant, Bacon, Provolone Cheese, Garlic & Oregano. For dinner out, we can’t go past Odyssey Bistro, a relaxed fine dining spot with a focus on sustainable, quality ingredients sourced from local small-scale producers - so much so that their menu changes weekly depending on what is available from local producers. These are some of our favourites but in this location there is no shortage of other options, it’s always great to simply take a stroll along the esplanade and see what takes your fancy.

To Do List

Hervey Bay is a renowned destination for whale watching during the migration season of July to October. If you’re here during this period we highly recommend getting out on the water with a tour from the team at Whalesong Cruises. Thanks to calm and rip-free waters, the bay itself is a great place to go for a swim at the beach which is conveniently located right in front of the park. Be sure to check with the staff at the park around stinger season ahead of heading out into the water. Given the calm waters, cruising around on a kayak or SUP is also a great activity. A visit to nearby K’Gari (Fraser Island) is a must if you have the time. This is an island of stunning natural beauty that is steeped in history and culture. You can learn about this traditional land of the Butchulla people through a variety of guided tours and cultural experiences. K’gari Explorer Tours is our favourite company, and they have a full day tour that departs from Hervey Bay. Within the park itself there’s no shortage of entertainment, particularly for kids. They’ll love playing in the pool, bouncing on the jumping pillow, running around in the playground and no doubt making a whole lot of new friends thanks to the daily friendly atmosphere.

Heads Up

Sites 221-228 are in a block right next to the amenities, commons areas and pool. For some this is great to avoid any long walks, but for others, the noise and movement can be irritating. If you’re in either of these groups, be sure to contact the park ahead of time and request to be closer or further away from this area depending on your preferences.
