We love the Glamping options, particularly the Safari Tents. Located in a pocket of the park on their own and facing out toward the beach, they have an amazing feeling of seclusion despite being just a short walk to all the great facilities this park has to offer.

Eat & Drink

One of our favourite spots is the Tathra Hotel, serving classic pub far but with an innovate twist in an incredibly well maintained 17th century building with a modern extension. Go for the classic Schnitzel, washed down with any number of beers from the in-house “Humpback Brewery”. Note that this is located on top of a hill, so whilst the walk appears short on the map it isn’t a flat one. If you’re after a pizza (takeaway or dine in), Drift is a fantastic option and conveniently located just minutes walk away. For a morning coffee, you don’t need to go far with Gidget the Coffee Van located on site and serving up great coffee from 8am daily during summer and Saturday to Tuesday in the quieter times of the year. For an afternoon drink, just up the road you’ll find the Tathra Bowlo which is always happy to have guests, come for a cold drink and hang around for a classic bistro meal.

To Do List

This is the sort of place where the perfect recipe for a great holiday could be simply utilising the fantastic onsite facilities at the park, and strolling over to the beach when you feel like it, but Tathra is a town with plenty to offer if you feel like wandering further.  If you’re looking to get a good sense of the coast around and potentially spot some distant marine life, the Tathra Headland walk is just 300m and suited to people of all abilities with plenty of educational signage along the way. For those seeking some local history, we highly recommend a visit to the historic steamer wharf, located at the end of the Headland Walk. On the trail down there you’re every chance to spot some loud seals. If you want to go for a drive and explore a few other local towns, head north to check out Bermagui or south to Merimbula. The park itself also runs weekly events including live music, check with reception on arrival to see what’s on during your stay.

Heads Up

Formerly known as Tathra Beachside Holiday Park, ownership has recently changed here but the offering remains very much the same. Note that whilst beach front sites are just steps from the beach, there is some thick bush between so don’t expect uninterrupted ocean views.
