Eat & Drink
Papercup Coffee have multiple locations along the coast and are always a favourite spot of ours for a morning coffee. Luckily for us (and anyone else staying at Broadwater Tourist Park) their Labrador location is just over 5 minutes walk away across the Loder Creek Bridge. There’s several fantastic restaurants in the Southport area, and Mozza Mozza is a favourite for Italian including some of the best pizzas on the Gold Coast. You’ll find it located in the Southport Sharks complex. If you’re after convenience, there’s a great Camp Kitchen as well as BBQ facilities within the park - the BBQ is conveniently located next to the Boat Ramp, perfect if you’ve managed to catch your dinner.
To Do List
Those who are keen to cast a line are in the right place, with a Boat Ramp accessible from the park launching you into Loders Creek which will take you out into the Broadwater, one of the best known fishing spots on the coast. If you catch something, don’t forget to use the fish cleaning tables directly next to the Boat Ramp on your return. If you’re here with kids, there’s a big chance that a visit to a theme park or two might be on your To Do List and this park is the perfect base to get to them. Whilst it is just over the Broadwater in Main Beach, Sea World will take approximately 10 minutes to drive to as you have to loop through Southport and over the Nerang Bridge. Alternatively, you can get there on the Hopo Ferry. Two of our favourites - Warner Brothers Movie World and WetNWild, are located 20 minutes drive away in the Helensvale area. Swimming is always high on the agenda in this part of the world, and there’s two great swimming pools within the park, or alternatively you can go for a dip out in Loders Creek or the Broadwater, or hop in the car and easily get to any of the Gold Coast’s iconic beaches. If dry land activity is your preference, you’ll find a tennis court, bouncing pillow, playground and recreation room all within the park.
Heads Up
Make sure to check any restrictions on vehicle length, our favourite sites (the Waterfront Powered Sites) will only work if your overall setup is less than 7.9m in length.
