Eat & Drink

For morning coffee and your produce needs while you’re at it, head to Sprout, a local cafe-come-fresh food grocer serving up delicious coffee and cafe staple dishes. Here you’ll find a singular all-day menu that is on offer from 8am-2pm that ranges from breakfast dishes to heartier lunch meals, although there isn’t an item on there that couldn't be enjoyed at any time of the day. There’s of course breakfast classics such as a chock-full BLT, Avocado Toast and Eggs Benedict as well as a range of other dishes including some great salads - we love the Beetroot Salad that comes with orange, feta, and pomegranate on a bed of fresh lettuce. If you’re after something easy then head to Eden Fish & Chips, a classic beachside Fish & Chip shop serving up everything you’d expect, and known for their menu being very friendly to gluten intolerant customers.

To Do List

Eden is an area known for its rich ties to Australia’s whaling, timber and fishing industries of years gone by and for the history buff, a visit to the Killer Whale Museum is a must. Originally built to house the skeleton of the Orca “Old Tom”, this is now a great spot to learn all about Australia’s Whaling, Timber and Fishing history. During whale migration season that runs from May to September, Eden is one of the best spots for whale watching. It’s well worth it to get up close through a whale watching cruise, and we highly recommend the team at Catbalou Cruises. If you’re here in the warmer months (or don’t mind getting in the water when it's cold), Aslings Beach is a picturesque spot which is home to a large man-made rock pool that has graced the pages of many beach photography books. Regularly refreshed by the natural flow of seawater, it's a great spot for a dip in calmer waters.

Heads Up

Eden Gateway’s tranquil location does mean it is not right in the town centre, but located approximately 2 km drive or walk away.
