Eat & Drink
If you’ve had a successful day out fishing or simply brought your own provisions along, the camp kitchen and BBQ are both very serviceable for cooking up a storm. There’s a herb garden within the park that's accessible to all guests and a perfect way to elevate your cooking. If you haven’t caught something but still have a hankering for great seafood, Kingfish Fish & Chips is a great fish & chip shop serving up fresh locally caught seafood. Known as “The best little pub in the cane fields'', the Jacobs Well Tavern is a fantastic option for casual pub meals, cold drinks and a friendly atmosphere. The steaks are delicious and well priced, but we always find it to go past the sticky, sweet, USA Style Pork Ribs. Open from 6:30am every day except Tuesdays, “Your Neighbours” Cafe is the perfect spot for early risers to grab a coffee and a delicious Bacon & Egg Roll.
To Do List
The fishing is fantastic year round in these waters and thanks to easy access to a Boat Ramp located just outside the park's water frontage, it's a huge attraction for visitors. You’ll find whiting, bream and flathead. If you feel like a dip, the estuary in front of the park is the perfect place for it and there is a netted swimming area for additional safety. The flat waters make it perfect to take out a kayak or SUP. The Pacific Highway is just 10 minutes away, making all that the Gold Coast and surrounding areas have to offer extremely accessible if you feel like venturing out from the local area.
Heads Up
Depending on the weather there can be plenty of mosquitos about in this area so be sure to pack your preferred insect repellent.
