Eat & Drink
There is no shortage of options within the park, highlighted by Rainforest Restaurant & Lounge Bar which is open 7 days a week for breakfast, and for lunch from Thursday to Sunday. There is also an onsite kiosk if you’re just after a lighter meal or a snack and of course, Camp Kitchen facilities for you to do your own cooking. Roughly ten minutes drive away you’ll find the main Tamborine Mountain township that has several other options. Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation is a must visit, whether it is for a delicious cup of coffee which is made from beans that are both grown and roasted at the property, or for brunch which is served from Thursday to Monday, 7am to 2pm. The dishes are creative and look as good as they taste. If you’re keen to learn more about the coffee industry, the team also offers crop to cup tours on Thursdays & Saturdays at 12pm. Come evening time, El Burro Cantina is a favourite for flavour-packed Mexican (that also happens to be entirely Gluten Free). You can design your own tacos from a variety of ingredients, and we also highly recommend the fajitas, a sizzling plate of onion & capsicum topped with your choice of steak, chicken, mushrooms or a combination of seafood.
To Do List
With such an extensive amount of facilities and activities available within the park, we’re going to focus our list there. We love to get the adrenaline going, and think that the Treetop Challenge is the must-visit activity at this park, it is Australia's largest Zipline & High Ropes course. There are a range of options including a course designed specifically for kids. “Dig It” is a great concept, based on the amazement kids have had for heavy machinery for many generations. Labelling itself “Australia’s first mini excavator park for kids”, your little ones will get into the driver's seat of real heavy machinery (with professional supervision, of course), and attempt a range of construction-inspired activities . The fun doesn’t stop there, with laser skirmish, mini golf, pickleball, rockpool visits and more all at your doorstep. Adventure-lovers will be in heaven. Note that several activities do not run during the week outside of School Holidays, so please check ahead with the team if there’s something you’ll be disappointed by if it isn’t available during your trip.
Heads Up
With its wide range of Adventure Park facilities, Thunderbird Park attracts plenty of guests beyond just those staying on the property so be prepared for a high-energy atmosphere.
