Eat & Drink
Whilst the park isn’t in a completely isolated spot, it isn’t a walk to any sort of well stocked township so we recommend bringing supplies and taking advantage of the clean and spacious Camp Kitchen and BBQ facilities. If you haven’t come with provisions or are just keen to get out and explore somewhere else, the nearest option is Bawley Takeaway, located just over 2km away in Bawley Point and serving up classic fish and chips, burgers and more. If you want a more extensive menu, head 2.5km in the other direction and you’ll find Saltwood Cafe & Lifestyle in Kioloa. They open for coffee, breakfast and lunch from 8am Wednesday through to Sunday and from Thursday to Friday they serve up a dinner menu of delicious pizza, pasta and cocktails. If you’re here for lunch, we highly recommend the fish tacos.
To Do List
Within the park there’s a lively atmosphere thanks to the huge range of facilities. Kids will loves playing in the pool and the waterslide and there’s plenty of sun lounges and seats available for parents to relax whilst supervising. It’s a big enough pool that you’ll be able to find a quiet spot somewhere if you are here without children or simply wanting a bit of relaxation time. On top of the pool, there’s also a Jumping Pillow, Games Room and even a Mini Golf Course. From the park you can access Racecourse Beach, a long stretch of surf beach that is great for swimming, surfing and even fishing. At low tide if the swell is calm you’ll also find some rock pools to explore at the northern end of the beach which kids always love. If you’ve brought a boat and are keen to get out on the water, you’ll find boat ramps at Bawley Point and Kioloa which are both nearby in opposite directions from the park.
Heads Up
There isn’t anything in walking distance of the park so come well provisioned unless you’re prepared to travel and pick up supplies or dine out during your stay.
