Eat & Drink

When staying at a place like this we think it’s best to bring your own provisions and cooking equipment or take advantage of onsite facilities, staying connected with nature and not feeling the need to rush about to various nearby spots when it comes to meal times. On site you’ll find a microwave and kettle, but there are fire pits available that can be the perfect place to cook up a delicious meal so long as you bring your own stove top (something simple lifted off a BBQ will do). If you do want to travel, Pottsville is the most convenient town to get to, roughly 8km away but less than 10 minutes by car. Here you’ll find a wide variety of options when it comes to dining. If it’s a special occasion or you’re keen just to splash out, Pipit is a creative fine-dining restaurant that celebrates the best of local produce and focuses on its coastal location. You’ll need to book ahead and the set menu does cost $155 per person. For something more casual, Hooked On Seafood is a fantastic local fish and chip shop serving up all the classics.

To Do List

A short walk away you’ll find the beautiful, unspoilt Wooyung Beach stretching for 10 km of glorious blue ocean meets green coastline geography. We think when you’re at a place like this, all activities should centre around the beach, and this is a spot that offers up plenty. For surfers, there’s reliable year round swell, we recommend having a chat with park staff about the best spots and conditions on any given day. Similarly, staff are the go to for advice on fishing spots but there’s plenty to catch including Dusky Flathead, Tailor, Yellowfin Bream, Yellowfin Whiting and more. If you’re keen for a quieter swim, the shallows are more than safe to paddle in but the beach is not patrolled so do be careful, particularly with little ones.

Heads Up

This park is in a secluded spot so go prepared with your own provisions or willing to make a short drive to one of the nearby towns.
