Whilst this incredible stretch of Australian coastline is known for its beaches, there is a range of fabulous other activities that kids will love. Here are five of our favourites.

1. AUSTRALIA ZOO: BEERWAH
The history of this incredible zoo began in 1970 with the late, great Steve Irwin launching the “Beerwah Reptile Park”. Having had multiple iterations since then. But still firmly tied to the Irwin family. This iconic Australian venue has now grown to a 700 acre space and is home to over 1200 animals from across the world ranging from the tiniest of lizards to the tallest of giraffes.

Where to find it: 1638 Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah QLD

2. THE GINGER FACTORY: YANDINA
The Ginger Factory is an iconic Sunshine Coast tourism destination where you’ll get to learn how locally made Buderim Ginger is grown, harvested and turned into the delicious you consume. There’s various tours and tastings available, and kids love the Ginger Train, a tour through 9 hectares of beautiful gardens of the Ginger Factory grounds. If you’re hungry, aside from Ginger, you can get your hands on some of the best ice cream on the coast available at the Ginger Factory’s own ice creamery, “Gingerlatis”.

Where to find it: 50 Pioneer Rd, Yandina QLD 4561

3. BOULD MOVE: BIRTINYA
Similar to rock climbing but without ropes and done on lower but more angular walls, bouldering is the activity taking the world by storm and fun for kids and adults alike. This is an activity that combines strength, flexibility and problem solving, but given your only as strong as your weight that you’re having to pull around, it’s one that kids of all sizes can be particularly good at!

Where to find it: 24A Innovation Pkwy, Birtinya QLD

4. EUMUNDI MARKETS: EUMUNDI
The eclectic Eumundi Markets, held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, are home to a wide range of products made by local craftsmen and women as well as various bits of locally grown produce to indulge in. Kids will love the variety of other activities on offer, including camel rides, face paintings, animal farms andd fairy encounters.

Where to find it: 80 Memorial Dr, Eumundi QLD

5. AUSSIE WORLD: PALMVIEW
Kids will love all the adventures on offer at this theme park with a huge variety of rides to suit all ages and all ranges of desire for a thrill. For those after something a bit more calm, we recommend Tin Lids Tea Party where you’ll hop into oversized tea cups for a gently spinning ride that is as suitable for the little ones as it is for adults who are after something more gentle. For the thrill-seekers, make a bee line to SX360 - Australia’s tallest and fastest 360-degree pendulum that reaches speeds of up to 80 km an hour while launching 32 metres into the air.

Where to find it: 73 Frizzo Rd, Palmview QLD
