Our favourite spot for a morning coffee and something to eat is Haven Broome. The chilli scrambled eggs are a favourite.

Broome is known for its iconic sunsets and we think these are best enjoyed with a drink in hand. Our favourite spot to do so is over on the Cable Beach side of town, at Cable Beach House. They serve an extensive range of cocktails, tap beers, wine and soft drinks and often have specials running over the sunset hours.

Come dinner time, there’s options to suit all cravings. Johnny Sausage is an Italian restaurant with a modern twist, serving up delicious pastas in a vibrant atmosphere. Another favourite is Papa Fuego, serving up South American cuisine focused around cooked over a flame grill. They have a particularly enticing cocktail list if you’re in the mood for a beverage,

For something more casual, the Broome RSL is a go-to serving classic counter fare in a friendly environment

What To Do In Broome

Broome is famous for its stunning sunsets, and one of the most memorable ways to experience them is on a camel ride along Cable Beach. To secure your spot, it's best to book in advance with Broome Camel Safaris.

Between March and October, a few times each month, Broome plays host to the breathtaking Staircase to the Moon. This natural spectacle occurs when the full moon rises over the exposed mudflats at low tide, creating the illusion of a glowing staircase stretching into the sky. For the best view, head to Town Beach or one of the designated viewing platforms.

If you’re after a break from the heat (or potentially the rain in wet season), the Broome Historical Museum is well worth a visit and offers undercover, air-conditioned comfort. Here you can learn about Broome's pearling history, the impact of World War II air raids, and delve into tales of shipwrecks and missing diamonds. The museum also highlights the development of a multicultural community that has evolved from a rich diversity of origins.

For those looking to explore beyond Broome, there are plenty of incredible day trips to choose from. Whether it’s a 4WD adventure through the Kimberley, a scenic flight over the famous Horizontal Falls, or a fishing charter out on the ocean, there’s no shortage of unforgettable experiences. If you do have the time to make a day trip, we think the Horizontal Falls is a must visit and there’s several great ways to do it that suit all budgets.
