Eating & Drinking
If you’ve got your own supplies, the BBQs and Camp Kitchen within the park are great facilities to cook up a storm and enjoy a meal with your fellow travellers. Getting out of the park, most of your eating and drinking options are located 3-4km away in the main township of Broome.
Our favourite spot for a morning coffee and something to eat is Haven Broome. If you’re keen to grab a takeaway and go for a wander along the beach there’s plenty of great sweet treats and smaller bites in their cabinet, or dine in and go for something more substantial off the brunch menu. The chilli scrambled eggs are a favourite.
Broome is known for its iconic sunsets and we think these are best enjoyed with a drink in hand. Our favourite spot to do so is over on the Cable Beach side of town, at Cable Beach House. They serve an extensive range of cocktails, tap beers, wine and soft drinks and often have specials running over the sunset hours.
Come dinner time, there’s options to suit all cravings. Johnny Sausage is an Italian restaurant with a modern twist, serving up delicious pastas in a vibrant atmosphere. For something more casual, the Broome RSL is a go-to serving classic counter fare in a friendly environment.
To Do List
Broome is known for its incredible sunsets and we think a particularly unique way to enjoy them is during a camel ride on Cable Beach. Book in with the team at Broome Camel Safaris ahead of time.
Occurring 2-3 times a month between March and October, the Staircase to the Moon is a breathtaking natural phenomenon where the full moon rises over the exposed mudflats at low tide, creating the illusion of a glowing staircase. For the best experience, grab a spot at Town Beach or one of the local viewing platforms.
It won’t take long in the tropical climate until you are ready for a swim, and Cable Beach is a great place to do so if you’re keen to get out into the ocean. It’s safe to swim here in the tourist season but not in the wet season. We also love the convenience of the pool located at the Holiday Park, and will often spend an afternoon poolside enjoying this great facility.
Just 1km from the Holiday Park you’ll find Broome Golf Club, a well maintained 18 hole course. We recommend getting early tee time to avoid the heat!
If you’re keen on a day trip, there’s no shortage of incredible options with Broome as your base. From 4WD tours exploring the Kimberley, to scenic flights over the famous horizontal falls, or fishing charters out on the ocean - there's something for everyone.
Heads Up
Whilst the park isn’t located in town, it’s a very easy drive or cycle if you have a bike. Activities in Broome are spread out regardless, so we don’t think this is a big factor in deciding where to stay.
