The best places to eat and drink in Phillip Island are all located in the Cowes area, near Anchor Belle. You’ll find several fantastic bars, cafes, and restaurants all within walking distance. For the best coffee in Phillip Island, head to G’DAY TIGER, located about a 20-minute walk from the park, near the Cowes Jetty. Also in Cowes, Grenache Wine Bar offers a perfect spot for a glass of wine and a menu featuring both substantial dishes and easy snacks to share over a drink. If your group is hungry, go for the meat plate which features sherry glazed pork ribs, fried chicken and marinated lamb with chips and aioli. Don't miss Ocean Reach Brewing, a fantastic craft brewery with a range of beers, from a refreshing Pilsner to a flavour-packed XPA, catering to beer lovers of all tastes. Lastly, for the best pub experience on Phillip Island, visit Hotel Phillip Island, located nearby.
Looking for exciting activities to do in Phillip Island? This area is renowned for its surfing, with Cape Woolamai just a 15-minute drive away. Many consider it one of the best surf spots in Australia. For those eager to learn to surf, we highly recommend champion surfer Jess Laing and the team at Girls On Board, who offer daily public lessons. Another must-see attraction is the Penguin Parade, where you can witness the largest colony of Little Penguins in the world. Every evening at sunset, these adorable creatures waddle ashore, and you can enjoy the view from well-designed seating areas.
Phillip Island has several different neighbourhoods and we often find first-time visitors don’t realise how big it is, so be sure to look up places you want to visit prior and factor travel time into your plans.
