The fully equipped camp kitchen gives us everything we need for those classic family barbecues, complete with ovens, cooktops, microwaves and free barbecues. When we're ready to venture into town, Waterfront Cafe at the Jetty is our first stop for breakfast overlooking Rivoli Bay. The coffee hits the mark, and we loved their fish and chips for a casual lunch with ocean views. For freshly baked pastries, Rivoli Bay Deli is the town hub, stocking everything from hot pies to locally made chutneys and an old-school lolly counter the kids adore. At Beachport Tavern, we enjoyed classic pub fare in a relaxed atmosphere just a short stroll from the park.
Right at the park, the kids burn off energy on the playground and in the games room while we appreciate the direct beach access across the road. The famous Beachport Jetty stretches 772 metres into Rivoli Bay, perfect for a sunset stroll or fishing for mullet and whiting. Drive eight kilometres along the spectacular Bowman Scenic Drive through Beachport Conservation Park to witness dramatic limestone cliffs, undulating sand dunes and wild Southern Ocean panoramas that rival the Great Ocean Road. Stop at the Pool of Siloam two kilometres west of town, where underground springs create water seven times saltier than the sea and bathers float effortlessly like they're in the Dead Sea. The Beachport Golf Club sits right behind the park for a scenic and laid-back round, while Lake George in the Beachport Conservation Park 10 kilometres north offers birdwatching trails to spot Lewin's water rails and yellow-bellied parrots. Day trip to Robe 50 kilometres north for long beaches and fabulous seafood lunches, or venture into the renowned Coonawarra wine region 40 kilometres inland to taste world-class cool-climate reds.
For those fishing, the Park staff are a great resource to chat to and get the early morning word about where they’re biting and which bait the squid are currently taking.
Check In is 2pm and Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
Pets are welcome on powered sites and in designated pet-friendly cabins.
