Located roughly 5 minutes drive away in the town of Mylestom on the coast, you’ll find the North Beach Bowls Club, a great spot for a drink or a meal. There’s a menu containing classic Bistro Fare as well as a Chinese inspired menu. The Bowls Club does run a courtesy bus service, but we recommend giving them a call ahead of time to check on the operational hours of this as they can vary depending on the time of the year.
In a slightly different direction, make a 10 minute drive and you’ll find yourself in the town of Urunga which also has several options. The Ocean View Hotel is a favourite, a classic pub set in a historic heritage building looking out over the ocean. In Urunga you’ll also find our favourite spot for a coffee in the area, Liberty Providores.
There’s several fantastic wineries in the region and our favourite happens to also be the closest to your accommodation. Raleigh Wines is all of 4 minutes away by car, and they’re open from Thursday to Sunday each week from 10am-5pm for both wine tastings and sittings in their delicious restaurant. Bookings here are recommended.
Don’t worry if you don’t want to hop in the car. Within the park itself there’s an extremely well equipped Camp Kitchen as well as BBQ facilities and plenty of communal space for you to enjoy your meal and perhaps get to know your fellow travellers.
The park has its own boat ramp and the Bellinger River at your doorstep is the perfect spot to enjoy all your favourite on-water activities, from water skiing and wakeboarding through to kayaks and SUPs and of course, fishing. Fresh bait can be purchased on site and you’ll catch Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Jewfish and Trevally year-round in this river.
Keen golfers won’t want to miss a round at Bonville Golf Course, just ten minutes away and with a reputation as one of Australia’s better golf courses. Note that it is only open for public play on Mondays and Tuesdays, and you will of course need to contact them ahead of time to arrange your tee time.
When you’re ready for a dip, there’s a fantastic 15 metre saltwater pool located within the park, which also has an adjoining kiddy pool making it a great spot for the whole family. If you prefer an ocean swim, make the short drive down to the sparkling white sands of North Beach which is seasonally patrolled.
There’s an on-site shop here which has basic provisions, but if you want a broader range you’ll need to make the roughly 5-minute car trip into the neighbouring town of Mylestom where you’ll find the General Store.
Check in is 2pm and Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
Pets are permitted on all Sites and designated Cabins subject to the Park's Pet Policy.
