It’s a short walk of no more than 10 to 15 minutes into the main strip of shops in Ulverstone, and when we’re craving a morning coffee and something to eat you’ll find us at Thirty Three Cups. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, their cakes and baked goods are incredible, equally they have a full menu of plated breakfast and lunch options. The Mexican Pork Belly Eggs Benedict is our go to when we’re hungry.
Sitting right over the river and looking out to the ocean you’ll find Pedro’s Seafood Bar and Grill, open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner and serving up a seafood focused menu. We like to go for the local produce, and recommend the Tasmanian Scallops as a starter or the Tasmanian Ocean Trout for a main.
Within the park there is a well equipped Camp Kitchen and several spots both indoors and outdoors for you to enjoy your meal and socialise with fellow travellers.
Directly behind the park you’ll find Buttons Beach, a close to 3 km stretch of sandy beach and a convenient spot for a refreshing dip. It’s patrolled on weekends and public holidays from December through to March.
Roughly 45 minutes drive from the park you’ll find Leven Canyon Regional Reserve, here there’s a range of walking tracks where you will encounter native flora and fauna. It’s highlighted by Leven Canyon itself, which sits an imposing 275m above the river that snakes below.
Located in the town of Ulverstone is Hive, a cultural and education precinct where you can explore the wonders of art, science and more. It’s home to the largest Planetarium in Tasmania which kids will particularly love as well as a gallery with rotating exhibitions showcasing artists from the region.
It’s not often we’ve come across the combination of a pet friendly Holiday Park set on a pet friendly beach, but that’s exactly what you have here. Those travelling with their four-legged family members are in the right spot!
