Eating & Drinking

We started our day by brewing our own cup of coffee in the Park’s fully equipped camp kitchen using our own gear but it’s only a 10-minute stroll into the main Camden strip on Argyle Street. A great stop is Coffee Factree where you'll enjoy expertly-brewed smooth coffee. Whilst you’re in the area wander up to Sweet Treats by Rhi, a charming cupcake shop right in the heart of town and well-frequented by locals. Apart from being irresistibly decorated these cakes are made fresh and a creative marvel in their own right.

For an easy and satisfying lunch, Epicure Camden is a standout choice. Housed in a heritage building on John Street, it’s part café, part providore. They serve gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, and local produce that make perfect picnic fare or a quick sit-down lunch.

We discovered and went back twice to a nearby Thai restaurant for dinner called Fan Thai. Family-run and with a welcoming atmosphere, it’s a relaxed, unpretentious spot with consistently good food. On your way home, pop in for a drink at Plough & Harrow Hotel, a local gastro-pub with a large semi-outdoor beer garden.

To Do List

Take a riverside walk

Being right on the Nepean River is one of the park’s biggest perks, so make the most of it. The track is flat and easy to walk, making it a good option for stretching your legs before heading into town. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to go - the paths are quieter, the air is cooler, and you’ll often spot birdlife along the riverbanks.

Visit Camden Town Farm & Farmers’ Market

Just a 10-minute walk from the park, Camden Town Farm is a historic, community-run farm. On Saturdays it comes alive with the Camden Fresh Produce Market, where you can browse local fruit, vegetables, artisan breads, honey and smallgoods. It’s a great way to sample the flavours of the region, pick up picnic supplies, or simply enjoy the farm’s relaxed atmosphere.

Hot Air Ballooning over Camden

For a truly unforgettable experience, book a hot air balloon ride over Camden and the Macarthur region. As the sun rises, you’ll float above patchwork farmland, winding rivers, and rolling hills. It’s a bucket-list experience that highlights just how beautiful this pocket of NSW really is.

Heads Up

You won’t find resort-style extras here, but the trade-off is space, quiet and that relaxed riverside pace that bigger holiday parks can’t match.

Pet Friendly

Pets are welcome on campsites and in select pet-friendly cabins.
