When we’re in a location like this surrounded by nature we love to bring our own provisions and just focus on being where we are - including doing all our own cooking! Lucky for us (and you), these Glamping tents come with fully equipped kitchens where you’ll be able to whip up whatever your heart desires. There’s even a dishwasher for hassle free cleaning.
Of course, it’s also well worth a trip into the township of Koondrook and it is located just 400m (about 5 minutes walk) away. The Long Paddock Food Store is our go to spot for a morning coffee or perhaps something to eat throughout the day, the sausage rolls are delicious or if you’re leaning toward something healthier there is a range of fresh salads on offer. Mates Royal Hotel is a fantastic spot for a cold drink or a counter meal, it’s conveniently open 7 days a week for a drink however the kitchen only operates from Tuesday through to Saturday. Try one of the specials off the Parmi menu!
If you haven’t brought your own provisions but want to cook in your accommodation you’re in luck, you’ll find everything you need at the Koondrook General Store.
Whether you’re unwinding after a day’s activities or simply putting your feet up for the day, the private deck of your Glamping tent looking out over the river and surrounded by nature is the perfect place to relax with a good book or to simply watch the world go by.
The river is of course a popular spot to explore, and its calm waters and idyllic scenery make it the ideal place to get out on a kayak or SUP if you have one. If you’ve got a boat, there’s a boat ramp located directly next to the property. There’s plenty of great fishing spots along this section of the river, and we also love to catch some Murray Cod.
If you’d prefer to stay on dry-land, there’s a few great options for exploring nature on foot. Gunbower National Park is a must visit, with towering river red gums, peaceful wetlands, and plenty of wildlife, from kangaroos and emus to vibrant birdlife. If you’re after a shorter stroll, the Koondrook Red Gum Statue Walk is a unique way to explore the area, with beautifully carved sculptures sharing the region’s history.
This is an all-Glamping retreat, so if you are travelling with your caravan or motorhome you’ll need to leave it parked!
Check In is 2pm and Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
