Your guide to this area

Eating & Drinking

On site you’ll find both a BBQ and Camp Kitchen area to cook up a storm. If you’ve had some luck fishing, remember to do your fish cleaning down at the boat ramp area - this is forbidden in the Camp Kitchen for the comfort of all guests.

For a few other options you’ll need to make the short drive into the town of Lang Lang. We’re big fans of the Lang Lang Bakery which is great for a treat in the morning, something more substantial at lunch or a coffee at any time of the day. We think the Vanilla Slice is a great signal for the quality of a country bakery and this one ranks highly! The Palace Hotel is a good option for consistent counter meals or a cold drink at any time of the day.

If you’re happy to go for a slightly longer drive, Phillip Island is roughly 45 minutes away by car and has plenty of options across bars, restaurants and cafes.

To Do List

This is an area that is very well known for its fishing, and you’ll find many of your fellow travellers who are staying here are here for just that! You can fish directly off the beach, or head out in a boat for some more action. If you need some extra info or gear, there’s a small kiosk at reception which stocks some bait, fishing gear and will have tide information available. Depending on the time of year and where you cast a line, you’ll find Gummy Sharks, Flathead, Whiting, Elephant Fish, Salmon.

Located out the front of the park, Lang Lang Beach is a 1.5km stretch of sand sitting on Westernport Bay and overlooking French Island. It’s well protected so you won’t find any swell here, the calm conditions make it a great spot for a swim or to take out a kayak or SUP. If you’re confident on your kayak, make the trip over to explore nearby French Island.

If you’ve brought your dog this beach is a particularly great spot given it is pet friendly all day, year round!

Heads Up

This is a relatively secluded spot so don’t expect to just walk down the street for provisions and a coffee - most of what you will need you can find in the township of Lang Lang, roughly 10 minutes drive away.
