The well-equipped camp kitchen becomes your command centre for family feasts, while cabins come with linen, towels and kitchenware all provided. When you're craving something you haven't cooked yourself, the local scene delivers. Ten minutes north at Red Rock, grab takeaway from the Red Rock Store, or head 15 kilometres south to Woolgoolga where Bluebottles Brasserie serves up chilled beachside breakfasts and lunches seven days a week.
The Corindi Beach Hotel is your local pub for classics and some more adventurous dishes like dukka-crusted pumpkin salads and fresh Balmain bug rolls. They run a courtesy bus Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm. We loved discovering Rafa's Cafe nearby for quality coffee, fresh juices and healthy options, with BYO alcohol dinners on Saturday evenings. For more choice, make the 30-minute drive south to Coffs Harbour where the dining strip delivers everything from fresh seafood to contemporary Australian fare along the marina precinct.
Stair access leads straight from the park to the sand, and Corindi Beach Lookout is just a short stroll from your cabin. Kangaroos and kookaburras are regular visitors, and from June to November you can spot migrating humpback whales cruising past the headland.
Ten kilometres north, Red Rock Beach stands out with its striking red rock formations against clear blue water. The nearby Corindi River is ideal for paddling and fishing.
A few minutes away on Red Rock Road, the Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre celebrates Gumbaynggirr culture. The Wadjar Regional Indigenous Gallery features First Nations artists, and the Jalumbo Cultural Heritage Keeping Place shares over 6,000 years of local history. Stop by the bush tucker café while you are there.
Fifteen kilometres south, Woolgoolga is home to the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, one of the largest Sikh temples in Australia. The headland is another excellent whale watching spot during migration season.
A 30 minute drive brings you to Coffs Harbour and The Big Banana Fun Park. Ride the country’s largest indoor giant slide, explore the biggest water park between Sydney and the Gold Coast, race down the ocean view toboggan, or try mini golf, laser tag, ice skating and escape rooms. It is an easy full day of entertainment for the whole crew.
We found the park noticeably quieter than the bigger Coffs Harbour parks, and booking a cabin closer to the dunes meant falling asleep to the sound of surf rather than highway, well worth doing midweek if you can swing it.
Check-in is 11am for powered and unpowered sites, 12 noon for ensuite sites and 3pm for cabins, with check-out at 10am across all accommodation.
Dogs are welcome on all sites and in designated pet-friendly cabins.
