We think the best coffee in town is found at Cafe Providence, located less than ten minutes walk away from the park. You’ll also find a variety of sweet treats and sandwiches in the cabinet, and a limited menu at both breakfast and lunch - the Brekkie Burrito is our go to.
Open daily from 8:30am to 9pm, Benchmark On Booner is a consistent spot for a drink and a pub-style meal, with a menu of counter meal classics, burgers and pizzas. For a meal with a view, we love enjoying a long lunch or dinner sitting on the deck overlooking the river at Mumms on the Myall. If you enjoy seafood, you can’t go past their delicious seafood platter which can be made up for any number of people you desire and includes a variety of fresh seafood - if they’re available, the giant skull island prawns are particularly good.
If you’re just keen to stay put, the Camp Kitchen and BBQ area at the park is well stocked and there are plenty of tables for you to enjoy your meal and meet some fellow travellers.
Just over the sand dunes from the park you’ll find the beautiful blue waters of Jimmy’s Beach. These calm and protected waters are a perfect spot for a swim. Whilst it is unpatrolled, it is a bay beach so it is suitable for all ages but of course keep an eye on your little ones. It’s also a fantastic beach to explore on kayak or SUP, which are available for hire from reception.
If you’re chasing some surf, just around the heads you’ll find Bennett’s Beach which is patrolled. The nearby Yacaaba Headland Walking Track is a 7km return journey if you go the full distance and whilst it is a tougher walk with some steep climbs, you’ll enjoy spectacular views over Myall Lakes National Park and across the ocean.
If you’ve brought your clubs, Hawks Nest Golf Club is nearby and has a championship rated 18-hole course that is open to visitors. Of course there is plenty to do within the park, particularly for kids thanks to the fantastic pool and outdoor adventure area.
Whilst we love the Glamping options, we’d recommend choosing something else if you are a light sleeper given their proximity to the pool and amenities areas. Being a canvas tent, they aren’t as soundproof as other roofed accommodation.
Check In is from 11am for Sites and 3pm for Cabins, Glamping and Tiny Homes, Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
Dog friendly year round on selected sites and tiny homes.
Pristine beaches, stunning hikes, and a prime beachfront location combine for this idyllic getaway on NSW's mid-coast.
