Eating & Drinking

Drift is our go to spot for a morning coffee and perhaps some breakfast. Located in the centre of town it is the perfect launching pad for your day. We’re particularly big fans of the Chorizo Scrambled Eggs.

The Caledonian Inn is an iconic local pub, first licensed in 1858 and housed in a beautiful Limestone Building. It’s the perfect place for enjoying a drink or a meal whether you’re here in summer to enjoy the beautiful ocean views out on the deck or warming up by the fire in winter. The food is terrific with a focus on local seafood and we can never go past the local crayfish, a specialty of this area. For a more refined setting, Sails is our favourite serving up a menu focused once again on quality local seafood. Once again, we highly recommended ordering the crayfish, they can run out but are happy to reserve one for you if you call and order ahead of time.

Within the park outside of the great communal facilities, there’s also something quite unique. One of the park owners began distilling Gin as a hobby but that has now expanded into the Robe Gin Distillery, a boutique operation that is run at the park. Feel free to pop by reception and ask for a taste, or even book a tour with the owners1

To Do List

Sitting out at the tip of the point of Cape Dombey, you’ll find the striking red and white structure known as the Robe Obelisk. It was first built in 1855 and used as a landmark to assist ships in navigating the entrance into Guichen Bay. It’s well worth a visit for the history behind it as much as it is for the stunning ocean views you get from this spot.

If you’re keen for a swim there isn’t a pool on site but you don’t need one when you have the beautiful Robe Long Beach just a 5 minute walk away. If you want a dip but aren’t fond of the beach, Lake Fellmongery is right next door to the park and is also a popular place for waterskiing and getting out in your boat.

You won’t find too many fish in the lake but if you are keen to get out fishing there are plenty of options, ranging from casting a line at the Robe Jetty through to surf fishing at Long Beach.

Heads Up

Whilst the Park is located just out of the Robe Town Centre it is an easy walk there which will take you just under 20 minutes, if you'd prefer to drive it is only 5 minutes away.
