Eating & Drinking

This is a remote spot, and we like to make the most of it by coming well stocked with provisions and enjoying all our meals at the property. There’s a great Camp Kitchen which is perfect for preparing and enjoying meals during your stay. It features a communal fridge and freezer to keep your supplies fresh, along with an electric full stove with an oven for easy cooking. You'll also find a microwave and sink for convenience, plus table settings for a comfortable dining experience. It’s fully enclosed so you’re good to go no matter the weather!

If you’re wanting to find somewhere to eat out or stock up on provisions, you’ll have to make a 25 minute drive either to Tin Can Bay on the coast, or head inland to the town of Gympie. Gympie has significantly more shops so we suggest heading there if you’re on the hunt for provisions. If you’re eating out, we’d recommend heading to Tin Can Bay and enjoying this peaceful coastal village.

To Do List

On our trips here we like to spend plenty of time within the park just relaxing amongst nature, and also making the occasional trip to nearby towns. you can enjoy a variety of activities both within the park and in the surrounding region.

A favourite is Tin Can Bay, located just 24 km away. Here you can enjoy a variety of activities, from spotting and even feeding dolphins through to getting out on the water by boat, exploring and fishing. We recommend heading to the Barnacles Dolphin Centre to learn all about these amazing creatures who call Tin Can Bay home all year round.

Heading in a different direction you’ll find the Mary Valley, which we think remains an underrated gem with its rolling green hills, national parks, and tranquil waterways. You can explore with a simple drive through, get out on a canoe in the Yabba Creek or Kandanga Creek, or follow one of the many hiking trails through the National Park forest.

If you’re staying at the park but still looking for an activity nearby, in the surrounding forests you’ll find numerous tracks and trails suitable for hiking, biking, and four-wheel driving. Within the park itself, you can relax walking through the grounds or take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool
