Eating & Drinking

Our favourite restaurant, Nino’s of Victor Harbor is a long-standing local favourite serving pizza, pasta and other Italian classics. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week, many locals and seasonal tourists have spent their childhood going back to this place time after time. The food is fresh and it’s family friendly with highly accommodating staff.

We tend to stick to the classics, so The Original Fish Shop is hard to go past. Nothing beats grabbing some fish and chips and heading to the foreshore for a picnic lunch or dinner.

For some more coastal dining options, head to Encounter Bay (the adjoining town along the coast heading west). For a casual setting, we love the wood-oven pizzas on offer at Beach House Cafe. Another great choice is Whalers Seaside Dining, a modern Australian restaurant which sits at the base of the iconic “Bluff”.

For a morning coffee, there are plenty of options in Victor Harbor but we always hit up Yilki Store which is also in Encounter Bay. In summer, this place can be very busy so get in early. No sweat if there is a bit of a queue - it’s a pretty stunning view of Granite Island whilst you wait in line.

For self-catering, the Park offers a fully-equipped camp kitchen as well as an on site kiosk for all the essentials.

To Do List

On site at the Park:

Splash Harbor, the Park’s very own water adventure zone will keep the kids entertained with waterslides. There’s a resort-style pool for the adults to relax and unwind.

For more fun, mini-golf, jumping pillow, adventure playground, and pedal karts are all a feature.

Beyond the Park gates:

Wander or catch the historic horse-drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island. Walk the Kaiki loop around the small island where you’ll see the southern ocean in all its glory as well as interact with coastal wildlife.

Jump aboard the Cockle Train, a heritage steam locomotive that journeys along the coastline from Victor Harbor to Goolwa.

You can also explore this entire stretch of coast by bike. The Encounter bikeway is a 22km trail with stunning views and pristine beaches along the way. Stop off at the local town of Port Elliot and grab a pie from Port Elliot Bakery.

For an easy hike and photo opportunity we recommend strolling up The Bluff (Rosetta Head)

Whale watching - during the winter months there’s many vantage points near Victor Harbor to see whales frolicking in the bay.

The town hosts a couple great markets if you happen to be here on a weekend. The Victor Harbour Farmers’ Market (Grosvenor Reserve) takes place every Saturday morning with a focus on fresh produce and local food traders. Every second and fourth Saturday, the Beachside Markets are held at the Soldiers Memorial Reserve. You’ll find 50+ stalls with everything from clothing and jewelry to handmade soaps, bric-a-brac, candles, honey, plants, homewares, and hot food.

Heads Up

Victor Harbor explodes in population around school holidays so book early if you want to secure a spot during peak season.

Pet Friendly

Dogs are permitted on Ensuite, Powered and Unpowered Sites, and in designated pet-friendly cabins.
