Wairo Beach is a tiny, peaceful village, and the Holiday Park is very much the heart of it. There’s no café strip or corner store within walking distance, which is part of the charm — the pace slows the moment you arrive. We always suggest stocking up in Ulladulla before checking in, especially if you’re staying a few nights. Each cabin comes with a modern kitchen, and the communal BBQ areas around the park make self-catering easy and enjoyable.
If you’re chasing a proper coffee, it’s worth making the 15 minute drive to Ulladulla for Coffee Guru, a dependable favourite for a flat white and something from the pastry cabinet. While you’re in town, Hayden’s Pies is one of those classic South Coast stops that never disappoints — flaky pastry, generous fillings and a long list of fan favourites. It’s an easy pick for lunch before heading back to the park.
For dinner, Tony’s Pizza House is the move if you want something relaxed to bring back to your cabin or site. The pizzas are generous, loaded and exactly what you feel like after a day at the beach or the lake. If you’re after something a little more polished, Harbour House Ulladulla delivers a more elevated experience with seafood, modern Australian plates and a dining room that feels like a treat without being over the top.
Wairo Beach is the kind of place where you can start the day barefoot. The beach sits just beyond the edge of the park, and we found ourselves wandering down most mornings to watch the surf roll in. It’s a beautiful stretch of coastline for swimming, surfing or simply settling into the rhythm of the South Coast.
A few minutes south, Lake Tabourie offers a completely different pace. The lake is glassy in the early mornings and ideal for a paddle on the kayak or SUP if you’ve brought one along. Families gravitate here for the calm, shallow edges, while bird lovers will appreciate the black swans, cormorants and pelicans that frequent the area. There are a couple of easy walking tracks around the lake that are perfect for stretching the legs before settling in for a picnic.
If you want to mix some nature with a bit of local flavour, plan a visit to the Mollymook Markets, held at the Mollymook Beach Reserve on select weekends. It’s a relaxed, bustling coastal market with everything from fresh produce and handmade goods to boutique clothing, homewares and gourmet treats.
The park is wonderfully peaceful, especially outside school holidays, so it’s perfect if you’re chasing a quiet coastal break.
Check In is 11am for sites, 2pm for cabins and Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
