The park offers a large, well‑equipped camp kitchen - great for preparing meals while keeping an eye on the kids. We loved that there’s a big screen to watch the footy or local news whilst cooking up dinner.
For a morning coffee and a quick and easy breakfast or lunch, The Point Bakery Cafe was a favourite of ours. They’re open from 6.30am and often filled with tradies getting their early morning caffeine fix.
Within easy reach there’s a good mix of other local spots to choose from. Hallidays Point Tavern is a popular local pub offering a solid menu with family-friendly vibes and an inviting bistro-style feel. We appreciated its proximity to the Park after a long day of exploring.
Another laid-back option for a casual meal and cold beer is the Hallidays Sport Club. Tuck into a steak, schnitzel or healthy salad and wash it down with a local ale. Both venues have a relaxed vibe with plenty of locals happy to strike up conversation.
In sunshine or rain there’s plenty to do all within the Park’s walls. There’s a heated indoor pool, resort-style outdoor pool, and a toddler splash zone to keep everyone cool (and busy). Between swims, the mini golf course, jumping pillow, and indoor play centre make it easy to fill the day without even leaving the park.
Take a 10-minute walk to Black Head Beach, one of the region’s most popular swimming spots. It's patrolled in summer and backed by a grassy reserve with shady pines, picnic tables, and even a tidal rock pool for safe ocean swims. A little farther is Diamond Beach - a quieter 6km sandy stretch known for its spectacular sunrises and regular dolphin sightings.
Aside from beautiful beaches, national parks and rainforest nature walks, Hallidays has access to local shops and restaurants, meaning you won't need to venture far during your stay in the region. However, if you’re after some more action Forster and Tuncurry (15 mins drive) offer a range of boutique shops, pubs and activities such as boat hire or a sunset cruise on Wallis Lake. It's a nice day trip to visit these towns especially if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Hallidays Point has a lovely village feel - no big crowds, just good beaches, great facilities, and space to unwind. It’s a low-key coastal spot, so it’s worth stocking up on supplies or planning to self-cater, especially if you’re arriving late or staying midweek.
Dogs are permitted on all sites and in designated pet-friendly cabins.
