Our favourite morning coffee spot and known by locals as the best on the island is Little Mike’s. It’s just around the corner from the Park and you’ll be greeted by the friendly staff who’ll always make the effort to get to know you, making it a perfect morning ritual during your stay.
For relaxed, freshly caught seafood, Pigface Seafood is ideal for a fish and chip lunch with a view. It’s far more than your standard fish and chip shop - there’s the staples but also some more fancy options. We shared a Cod & Slaw Burger and a Serve of the Fish Tacos. There’s a grassy beachside reserve adjacent to the cafe with ample car parking and public toilets.
Like the previous two recommendations, our dinner tip is also just around the corner from the Park. Head to the Blue Pacific Hotel for a hearty pub meal and cold beers. It’s an old school bistro pub with large TVs and an indoor children's playground. As far as quintessential Queensland experiences, listening to the live band out in the beer garden is a pretty good fit.
If you’ve come prepared with your own supplies, the Park also offers a fully equipped camp kitchen with plenty of bench space and enough gas BBQs for everyone.
If you are looking for a family-friendly beach, you’ve struck gold with Woorim Beach. Gentle surf but still fun enough for kids, patrolled by lifeguards, crystal clear water and golden sand. Not to mention easy access to amenities such as toilets and outdoor showers.
4WD enthusiasts can cruise along the 22km Ocean Beach track along the island's east coast. Explore uninterrupted coastline and saltwater lagoons. Please note a vehicle permit is required to access the Bribie Island Recreation Area.
The iconic Australia Zoo is within easy reach for a fun day trip. It’s about a 45 minute drive via the aptly named Steve Irwin Way. For animal lovers, it’s a memorable experience especially to witness a croc-feeding show.
Be prepared to ditch the car once you check in. You can walk to almost everything - the beach, the surf club, cafés, even the local IGA. It makes things feel slower in the best kind of way, especially if you’re used to hopping in the car for every little thing.
Strictly no pets allowed at this Park.
