This location has none of the hustle and bustle of the more frequented coastal towns in the area which is one of the reasons we love it. That said, it also means options for eating and drinking out without hopping in your car and going to a different town are limited.
Within Brooms Head, you have three options. The Snak Shak located on the beach right outside the Holiday Park is a family run takeaway cafe, offering up coffee as well as hamburgers, fish & chips, fresh salads, wraps, sandwiches, and more - not to mention incredible views whilst you enjoy your food and drink. The Brooms Head Bowls Club is about 500m from the park and open 7 days a week during holiday periods and Wednesday to Sunday outside of those. It’s a great spot for a cold drink and a counter meal from their Chinese focused menu. The Brooms Head General Store serves coffee and a great range of snacks and lighter lunch type meals.
Within the Holiday Park there’s several BBQs which offer a picturesque spot to cook up a storm with your own provisions.
In a stunning coastal location like this, activities are all about either being in, on, or around the water. Start with a visit to Cakora Point, our favourite spot to take in the views and, depending on the time of year, catch a glimpse of whales or dolphins.
Brooms Head Main Beach is located directly out the front of the park and is uncrowded all year round. It’s protected by a set of sweeping boulders making it a great place for a swim for those of all ages. Kids always particularly enjoy exploring the tidal rockpools that form.
For a bit of adventure, head north to Redcliff and Lake Arragan. You’ll likely spot kangaroos, and the rockpools and red cliffs are great for exploring. If you have a kayak or SUP, nearby Lake Arragan is perfect for a peaceful paddle.
Brooms Heads is a quiet town, with just a General Store as your go-to spot for any provisions. It is very well stocked including a range of groceries, delicious freshly baked goods, a bottle shop and even frozen gourmet meals.
