Eating & Drinking

If you’ve brought provisions and want to cook on site you’ll find two camp kitchens, including one next to the pool with a BBQ. Started cooking and realised you’ve forgotten something? The kiosk on site stocks plenty of basic groceries.

When it comes to eating and drinking out, your most convenient option is to make the 5-minute drive into Grafton town centre. To kickstart your morning our favourite coffee and breakfast pick is Peachy Raes. We loved their range of smoothie bowls.

Later in the day, the iconic Clocktower hotel is the place to be. There’s a front bar filled with beer options, a separate dining room and regular live music. They’ve got a great menu with loads of gluten-free and vegan options available - we couldn’t go past the Clocktower wagyu beef burger.

If you’re looking for a relaxed bite to eat, Burrito Bar is located just across the river from the park and serves up great Mexican food and cocktails. They also offer delivery if you don’t feel like leaving the park for the night.

To Do List

There’s a rich list of things to do in the Clarence Valley, where Grafton is situated. The Grafton Heritage Trail is a self-guided tour highlighting 25 historic sites, including the Grafton Gaol and the 1884 Christ Church Cathedral. This trail offers a window into the city's architectural and cultural past.

Make sure you take the time to stroll down ‘Fig Tree Avenue’. This National Trust listed site is as the name suggests - an avenue of 17 tall fig trees that extend across both sides of the path.

The Yuraygir National Park is a short drive from the park and showcases some of the region’s pristine beaches and wildlife. For fishing, boating or even a riverside picnic the Clarence River is the lifeblood of the town.

After a long day exploring, relax by the park’s pool which is surrounded by tall palm trees.

Heads Up

The big event of the year is the famous Jacaranda Festival, an annual staple which takes place across October and November. The town is transformed into a purple paradise. Make sure you book well in advance if you want to visit at this time of year.
