The Tathra Hotel is always number one on our recommendations list for anyone travelling to Tathra, offering classic pub dishes with a creative twist in a beautifully preserved 17th-century building with a sleek modern extension. Try the Schnitzel, perfectly paired with one of the beers from the on-site Humpback Brewery. Keep in mind, it's perched atop a hill, so the short walk on the map may feel a bit steeper in reality.
For pizza, Drift is an excellent choice just a few minutes' walk away, with options for dine-in or takeaway. Need coffee? Our favourite cafe in the area is less than 500m away, Wild Orchid Cafe.
For a relaxed afternoon drink, head to the local Bowlo just up the road, where you can enjoy a cold beverage and stay for a classic bistro meal. If you’re keen to cook at the property, you won’t be disappointed thanks to a new Camp Kitchen which is very well stocked. There’s also a Kitchen Garden to help you level up your cooking.
This is such a beautiful property that dedicating time to go for a wander around it should be at the top of your list. You’ll find families of kangaroos and wallabies strewn about enjoying the natural bushland setting.
Outside of the property, get a scenic introduction to Tathra’s natural beauty, with the Tathra Headland Walk. This easy 300m trail is accessible for all abilities, featuring plenty of educational signage about the local ecosystem, history, and Indigenous heritage. From the headland, enjoy sweeping coastal views and keep an eye out for marine life, with whales, dolphins, and seals often making appearances depending on the season.
At the end of the walk, you'll find the historic Tathra Steamer Wharf, a beautifully preserved 19th-century landmark that offers a glimpse into the town's maritime past. Take some time to explore the wharf, enjoy the panoramic ocean views, and listen for the calls of seals that often gather in the area. Directly across the road from the park is Tathra Beach, a great spot for a swim.
There’s plenty more to discover in Tathra, check out our Tathra Destination Guide to learn more.
Working from the road? We love the addition here of a dedicated business area which includes charging points, bench seats and of course free WiFi.
Check In is from 12pm for Sites and 2pm for all other accommodation, Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
Due to the wildlife who make the surrounding bushland their home, this property is not pet friendly.
