Great coffee is an essential for every holiday, and we’re here to keep you in the loop on where to get it no matter where your journeys take you. Known for its stunning turquoise waters, this part of the world is also home to a thriving (and growing) cafe scene. Here are our picks for delicious food and specialty coffee.

1. CLAY COFFEE COLLECTIVE: GERRINGONG
Why we love them: Aside from the amazing coffee, taking after it’s name there are a whole range of handcrafted pottery items available for sale in the cafe - one of the more unique concepts we’ve seen.

Coffee: Single O

If you’re hungry: Whilst the focus here is firmly on the specialty coffee, we have yet to find a muffin of the day that we don’t love. If it’s on offer, make sure to grab a ‘giant carrot cake’ muffin before they sell out.

Where to find them: Shop 9/123 Fern St, Gerringong

2. ALBERT N MISO: VINCENTIA
Why we love them: Owned by a pair of hospitality veterans, this shines through in the polished service and well educated team here.

Coffee: Little Coffee Co

If you’re hungry: The hot cakes are to die for! A pair of fluffy hotcakes served with icing sugar, fresh fruit and of course as much maple syrup as your heart desires.

Where to find them: 12/5 Burton St, Vincentia

3. PENNY WHISTLERS: KIAMA
Why we love them: Serving food and coffee all day, it’s great to know there’s somewhere to go for a delicious coffee regardless of the time of day.

Coffee: Campos

If you’re hungry: Coffee and a Bacon & Egg roll - is there a better combo? The B&E Deluxe Roll here is one of the best we have tasted - a delicious combo of bacon, fried egg, hash brown, iceberg lettuce, fresh tomato, Provolone cheese and smoky BBQ sauce on a soft milk bun.

Where to find them: 5/31 Shoalhaven St, Kiama

4. LITTLE EARTH ROASTERS: KIAMA
Why we love them: Roasting their own beans on site, you’re not going to find coffee much fresher or made by staff more dedicated to their craft.

Coffee: Little Earth Roasters

If you’re hungry: Specialty coffee is the focus as it should be at a roastery, but if you’re hungry then go for the Smashed Avocado.

Where to find them: 10 Tingira Cres, Kiama
