Sometimes despite your best intentions to come well provisioned, it’s just easier to get takeaway. Luckily for those in Noosa, there’s no shortage of options. Given the seaside location of course fish and chips features prominently, but you’ll also find fantastic burgers and pizzas. We think we know the best takeaway spots in Noosa, and here is our top five.

1. RED EMPEROR FISH & CHIPS: GYMPIE TERRACE

Why we love them: South East Queensland is a hot spot for fishing and Red Emperor showcases the very best of the region with a range of fish on offer.

Favourite dish: If it’s fresh and available try the Sweet Lip, a locally caught white fish with a mild sweetness which is just as good deep fried as it is grilled.

Where to find them: 7/287 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD

2. BETTY’S BURGERS: HASTINGS ST

Why we love them: You may not know that even though it is now franchised across the country, the original Betty’s started in Noosa and the history of people named Betty serving up burgers in Noosa extends beyond that to a lady named Betty Wallace who famously sold $1 “Betty’s Burgers” from a sandwich shop on Hastings Street for almost 30 years. When we’re in town, it feels wrong not to pay our respects to takeaway history at this delicious burger joint.

Favourite dish: We can’t go past a classic, the Betty’s Deluxe is a delicious combination of Angus beef, bacon, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and of course, Betty’s special sauce.

Where to find them: 2/50 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD

3. ZACHARY’S PIZZA: GYMPIE TERRACE & HASTINGS ST

Why we love them: A Noosa institution, Zachary’s is a no brainer when it comes to choosing where you’ll get your pizza from thanks to its dual locations servicing the two busiest areas of town. Delicious woodfired pizzas with a thin base but never light on toppings, just how we like it.

Favourite dish: The “Papa Grande” pizza, a combo of Ham, Salami, Mushrooms & Onion that always hits the spot.

Where to find them: 271 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD & 15 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD

4. MR FISH: QUAMBY PLACE

Why we love them: An unfussy, hole in the wall fish and chip shop that has consistently served up great takeaway for years.

Favourite dish: It’s always a classic Fish and Chips for us here with grilled fish of the day and just a squeeze of lemon. You can’t go wrong with seafood this fresh.

Where to find them: 2 Quamby Pl, Noosa Heads QLD

5. EL CAPITANO PIZZERIA: HASTINGS ST

Why we love them: This bustling Hastings St. venue is a great place to dine in and equally great for takeaway. Their pizzas range from the classics to the more adventurous but always with the same delicious base that is hand-stretched to order.

Favourite dish: The “Local Tiger Prawn” pizza featuring prawns, mild fresh chilli, fior di latte cheese, confit garlic, lemon and parsley.

Where to find them: 52 Hastings St (Upstairs), Noosa Heads QLD
