Morning Coffee: 5 Of The Best Sunshine Coast Cafes
Fuel up for the day exploring one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations with its perfect year-round climate and incredible natural beauty.
As one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations the list of activities to do on the Sunshine Coast is as extensive as it gets and usually involves getting outdoors and enjoying the perfect year-round climate and incredible natural beauty. Fuel up for the day at one of our five favourite spots for specialty coffee below.
1. MOONSTRUCK: NOOSA HEADS
Why we love them: Ideally located on Hastings St. but so far from being a ‘tourist trap’ type venue, Moonstruck brings delicious coffee, a great variety of food and impeccable service packaged up into a gorgeous venue.
Coffee: Cooroy Coffee Roasters
If you’re hungry: The wild porridge served with gingered figs and coconut yoghurt is one of those delicious breakfast dishes that tastes too good to be as healthy as it is.
Where to find them: 5 Hastings St, Noosa Heads
2. SLIDE COFFEE HOUSE: CALOUNDRA
Why we love them: With an incredible dedication to coffee and community, Slide has fast become the go to place for coffee lovers on the Sunshine Coast. Sustainability is also a large focus for the team, with almost all energy sourced via solar and takeaway coffee being served in the most environmentally friendly cup on the market - the first truly plastic and bioplastic free takeaway cup.
Coffee: Slide Coffee Roasters
If you’re hungry: It’s unashamedly all about the coffee here - we recommend grabbing a takeaway and picking food up at one of the other local options nearby.
Where to find them: Shop 2/84 Bulcock St, Caloundra
3. CLANDESTINO: NOOSAVILLE
Why we love them: Tucked away behind Belmondo’s market, Clandestino is a hidden gem but far from small - now providing coffee to many of the best cafes across the Sunshine Coast and Queensland more broadly. The team at Clandestino perfectly balance an approach to specialty coffee that has plenty of depth for the passionate coffee drinker, but is equally approachable to someone just looking for their daily caffeine fix.
Coffee: Clandestino Coffee Roasters
If you’re hungry: We often have a sweet tooth on holiday and can’t go past the Choc-Chip Buckwheat pancakes, served with whipped ricotta & butterscotch sauce.
Where to find them: 2/59 Rene St, Noosaville
4. SUNSHINE SOCIAL: SUNSHINE BEACH
Why we love them: In the beautiful natural surroundings of Sunshine Beach, Sunshine Social is a place with huge dedication to coffee, sustainability and the circular economy. Combining their sustainability-forward ethos with a drive to positively contribute to the local community beyond just being their place for a coffee, the team have diverted 10 tons of coffee grinds from landfill in the last 12 months through donating grinds to local community gardens.
Coffee: Sunshine Social Coffee Roasters
If you’re hungry: The food offering is limited but there are rotating treats (both sweet and savoury) available in their cabinet. If it’s on offer, go for the classic ANZAC biscuit.
Where to find them: 24-26 Duke St, Sunshine Beach
5. GURU LIFE: ROSEMOUNT
Why we love them: Located in the quiet town of Rosemount, this unique Roastery and Cafe is a great place to enjoy specialty coffee and connect with nature at the same time whilst checking out a small town (Population 1851) that you likely otherwise would not have visited.
Coffee: Guru Coffee
If you’re hungry: The homemade lemon pie is delicious, zesty and a perfect treat to go with your coffee. An added bonus for those with allergies, it’s gluten free.
Where to find them: 522 Petrie Creek Rd, Rosemount
