Whether it’s following a morning surf, swim or hike, or just relaxing with the paper and a beautiful view, we think that coffee is an essential part of any coastal holiday. Here are five of our favourite places for delicious food and specialty coffee on the Sapphire Coast.

1. WILD ORCHID CAFE: TATHRA

Why we love them: Just across the road from the beach and with a menu that is far from traditional, we love their innovative approach and warm hospitality.

Coffee: Wild Rye’s Roasting Co

If you’re hungry: For something a bit different, go for the Turkish Eggs served with dill yoghurt, chilli butter, dukkah on flat bread.

Where to find them: 1/29 Andy Poole Dr, Tathra

2. WILD RYE’S: PAMBULA

Why we love them: A bakery that’s as at home in regional Australia as it would be nestled on a corner in Paris, suitable for the sausage roll lover or the croissant connoisseur.

Coffee: Wild Rye’s Roasting Co

If you’re hungry: With an incredible array of baked goods to choose from, there’s something for everyone. This is like picking a favourite child, but we’ll settle on a classic croissant - buttery, flakey perfection.

Where to find them: 26 Quondola St, Pambula NSW

3. HONORBREAD: BERMAGUI

Why we love them: An artisan bakery with a huge variety of delicious treats both savoury and sweet, and an ethos driven by place - always favouring local produce.

Coffee: Single O

If you’re hungry: We think a coffee goes best with a sweet treat and the fruit danishes here are simply out-of-this-world. If they’re in season, our favourite is the plum danish.

Where to find them: 8 Bunga St, Bermagui

4. SPROUT: EDEN

Why we love them: Come for the great coffee and food, and leave with some delicious local produce in this cafe/grocer hybrid.

Coffee: ONA

If you’re hungry: The classic BLT is a perfect way to get your day going, or satisfy your appetite come lunch time.

Where to find them: 134 Imlay St, Eden

5. BAR BEACH KIOSK: MERIMBULA

Why we love them: With a view as good as the coffee, we love kicking back here and enjoying the glistening turquoise waters ahead.

Coffee: Single O

If you’re hungry: We’re a sucker for a good donut and there’s always a few varieties on offer here. Our go to is the custard donut.

Where to find them: Bar Beach, Off Lake St, Merimbula
