Within the park itself you’ll find a bar and restaurant where you can take in Jack Ramsdell's iconic wooden sculptures whilst enjoying a drink or meal. The menu is made up of bistro classics as well as pizzas and pastas. The Manakish Pizza is unexpected but delicious - a combination of zaatar & mozzarella with sour cream and pickled turnip. Note, the restaurant only operates for lunch from Thursdays to Sundays and dinner Thursday through to Saturdays.
If you’re keen to do the cooking yourself, there’s a Camp Kitchen that has all you need to whip up a great meal, or of course kitchenette facilities in the cabins.
If you’re after some more options for eating and drinking out, make the 20 minutes drive to the town of Lakes Entrance - our favourite restaurant there is Sodafish.
This area is all about nature driven activities, with a ride variety right at the doorstep. Whether you are on foot or bike, the East Gippsland Trail is well worth exploring, a 106km stretch of old railway line running through farmlands and forests, including crossing several old bridges.
Lake Tyers is a great spot for all sorts of on water activities, from exploring via kayak or SUP, or casting a line - you’ll find plenty of bream, and potentially garfish and King George whiting and even prawns in the right season. This is a very popular area for Mountain Biking, with several trails nearby as well as a purpose built Mountain Bike Park.
Within the Bar & Restaurant at the park, you’ll find "The Big Tree Root" a natural wood sculpture. It is the root system of a Messmate Eucaluptus obliqua. A tree grew in one metre of sandy loam on top of a limestone shelf. When the root failed to penetrate the limestone, the roots grew laterally. It is part of the J.E (Jack) Ramsdell collection, a unique display of exotic Australian timbers on display at Mingling Waters.
If you’re staying in one of the Cabins, the park asks if you could please do any cooking in your own kitchenette, leaving the communal facilities for those staying in Sites.
Check In is 2pm and Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
Pets are permitted on some sites with prior approval from management.
