Molloy Hideaway Holiday Park offers a well-equipped camp kitchen and multiple BBQ areas, perfect for preparing your own meals amidst the serene bushland setting. For essentials, the on-site kiosk stocks basic groceries, ice, bait, fuel, and cold drinks, ensuring you have the necessities without leaving the park.
For a bigger grocery run, head into Augusta (approx. 15 mins drive). There’s an IGA supermarket right in the centre of town with ample car parking.
When it comes to coffee or a bite to eat, Deckchair Café is a popular local pick. It’s ideal for a relaxed breakfast or light lunch, with plenty of seating and an extensive sandwich cabinet.
For something more substantial, we recommend The Colour Patch. Set on the waterfront, it’s a standout brunch and lunch spot - don’t miss the chilli scramble. The post-11am menu features a great mix of seafood and pizzas.
If it’s a classic coastal takeaway you’re craving, Blue Ocean Fish & Chips has you covered. It’s a casual dinner go-to, with a wide range of burgers, fish options, and kids' meals that hit the spot after a big day outdoors.
On the water
Launch your kayak, canoe, or SUP directly from the park’s private boat ramp into the calm waters of the Blackwood River. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck with bream, while those seeking a leisurely experience can enjoy a guided river cruise with local expert Graeme Challis, who shares stories and insights about the area's rich ecosystem.
Wildlife and Nature
The park is a haven for wildlife lovers. Spot kangaroos grazing near your site, observe parrots and kookaburras in the trees, and keep an eye out for dolphins playing in the river. Evenings are perfect for stargazing, thanks to the minimal light pollution in this secluded setting.
Family Fun
Families will appreciate the park's pedal kart hire and playground, providing entertainment for kids of all ages. The expansive grounds offer plenty of space for biking and exploration.
Augusta Highlights
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse: Visit the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. Guided tours offer panoramic views and historical insights.
Jewel Cave: Discover one of the most impressive limestone caves in WA. Join a guided-tour to escape the heat on a hot summer day and learn how this ancient chamber was formed over thousands of years.
Flinders Bay & Granny’s Pool: Enjoy swimming, fishing, or a relaxed beach day. Granny’s Pool offers a sheltered spot ideal for families with young children.
Whale Watching (May–August): Join a tour from Augusta Boat Harbour to witness humpback and southern right whales during their migration.
Molloy Hideaway Holiday Park is situated on the mainland of the Blackwood River - not Molloy Island as the name may suggest.
Peak periods like school holidays and long weekends fill up fast, especially for riverside Sites and Cabins, so book early if you’re eyeing those prime spots.
Pets are not permitted at this park in order to help protect the surrounding native wildlife and bushland.
