A laid-back family retreat near the beach, offering comfortable Cabins and spacious Sites surrounded by the natural beauty of Shoalhaven Heads.
Mornings here tend to start slow — ideally with a walk by the beach and a coffee from Espresso Boy, at the Surf Life Saving Club. The flat whites are excellent, and if you’re hungry, their bacon and egg rolls hit the mark after a morning swim.
For lunch, we like to wander over to Hedy’s Bistro. Everything is close here, so it is just a few minutes from the park. It’s relaxed but polished — think fresh seafood, burgers and crisp salads, all best enjoyed seated outside enjoying the coastal environment.
Come evening, one of our favourite casual spots is Pizza LOCO! It’s a local favourite known for its woodfired bases and generous toppings. Grab a takeaway and bring it back to the park — it’s an easy, satisfying way to end the day.
If you’re in the mood to cook, the park’s Camp Kitchen and BBQ area make self-catering simple. Pick up supplies in Bomaderry or at the local IGA, throw a few sausages on the grill, and enjoy dinner under the stars.
It’s easy to fill your days here without ever straying too far from the village. A few minutes’ drive from the park, Seven Mile Beach stretches out in a golden line along the coast — the kind of beach that makes you slow down and just take it all in. Mornings are perfect for a walk along the shoreline or a quiet swim before the breeze picks up, while surfers will find a few gentle breaks at the northern end.
For something a little more refined, spend an afternoon at Coolangatta Estate Winery, just up the road. Set on a historic convict-built estate, this beautiful property pairs Shoalhaven charm with seriously good wine. The combination of heritage buildings, rolling hills and relaxed hospitality makes it one of those places you’ll talk about long after you’ve left.
Families will love a trip to Shoalhaven Zoo, about 20 minutes away on the banks of the river. You can hand-feed kangaroos, meet koalas and catch one of the keeper talks — they’re engaging and fun for all ages. Bring a picnic and settle in under the trees.
The park has a friendly, close-knit feel rather than a resort vibe, perfect for families and couples who prefer quiet evenings and a slower pace over big crowds.
Pets are welcome on all campsites and in designated pet-friendly cabins.
