First Impressions
After coming off Byron’s bustling main drag of Lawson St., we head straight up a staircase and are greeted at the top by a friendly waiter checking if we have a booking. There’s a dining room inside which is well fitted out and does look like a great spot for dinner, but given it is 4pm on a sunny Byron day we’re headed straight to the outdoor balcony area and take our seats at a lounge type table. We’re a group of 6 adults and it is the perfect setup for a few drinks, some snacks and a chat with old friends. Whilst you can see the balcony from street level, you don’t get a sense for how large and spacious it is until actually being seated at a table outside.
The Offering
The menu is very adaptable, with a wide selection of both sharing plates and main size dishes meaning it suits all occasions. As the venue's name suggests, you can of course find some great oysters on the menu here. We particularly love them served natural with the chardonnay mignonette dressing. The menu in general leans towards seafood but there are plenty of non-seafood options too including some great steaks and a burger that will hit the spot no matter your hunger. There’s a longer than usual Kids Menu with all their favourites on it. Beverages wise, expect a range of cocktails - both their own concoctions as well as the classics, an interesting wine list and of course refreshing local beers.
