The Bottle Of Milk, Lorne

Enjoy one of the best burgers in Australia, just steps away from one of the best beaches in Australia.

First Impressions
We’ve wandered up from the beach and are walking along the main drag of Lorne, Mountjoy Parade, seeking out a great burger at this highly recommended venue. Whilst on the main street, it isn’t in the main lot of shops, you’ll have to wander a bit further along away from the Surf Club and you’ll find The Bottle Of Milk in a lot of shops where the road turns to the left and you can see a roundabout ahead. We find a table outside and then wander up to the door to take a look at the menu. Service is casual and friendly and feels like a takeaway shop for all the right reasons. We place our order at the counter then take our seats outside to enjoy the warm weather and the casual coastal atmosphere, doing some people watching as holiday-goers wander along the foreshore.

The Offering
It’s all about what's between the buns here with a wide range of burgers. You’ll find beef, chicken and vegetarian options as well as some smaller portion burgers for the kids. Whether you’re seeking a classic cheeseburger with no frills or keen to push the boundaries with something a little different, you’re sure to find something that takes your eye on this menu.  Beverages wise there’s all the standard soft drinks as well as freshly made thick shakes and several beers on tap. If you’re here at breakfast time there is a separate menu that still includes several breakfast burger type options (the “Cold Shower” is a cult favourite - similar to the classic B&E Roll but with the addition of a hash brown) and all day the team serves great coffee with beans from Melbourne’s famous Seven Seeds Coffee Roastery.
