Sodafish Restaurant, Lakes Entrance

Warm hospitality, a unique location and some of the freshest seafood you will find.

First Impressions
It’s not every day that you walk onto a floating restaurant located amongst a harbour of boats that includes a fleet of local fishermen. Whilst the concept of a ‘floating restaurant’ may sound a bit gimmicky, Sodafish is anything but. We’re immediately struck by the professional yet warm and casual hospitality of the staff and the refined setting inside.

The Offering
The menu is ever changing based on the seasons, but at its core it is highly seafood driven. Whilst seafood lovers will be in heaven, don’t be put off if you or someone in your group doesn’t like or is allergic to seafood, there are always other great options including beef fresh from local farms. Whilst the menu leans towards the more refined end of cooking, the focus here is on elevating the core elements of the dish and letting them be the hero. Amongst a range of interesting dishes you’ll also find Sodafish’s famous classic Fish & Chips. It speaks to the attitude of Executive chef and owner Nick Mahlook that this sits on the menu, they’re all about serving up delicious, fresh food, not playing to trends or ideas about how a restaurant like this ‘should’ be.

You’ll Drive Back For
Seafood doesn’t get much fresher than this, and we’re betting that no matter what your choice is off the menu you’ll be wanting to come back to try it again or explore a little further.
