Sydney to the Sapphire Coast is an incredibly popular drive and offers plenty of great options to stop for an overnight stay or just to stretch the legs. Either way, we know you’ll need something to eat so here are our four favourite places to grab a bite on our drive.
1. HERITAGE BAKERY: MILTON
Why we love them: A classic country bakery with some of the best pies going around. A great spot to stop and pick up takeaway or dine in with plenty of seats. We love to treat ourselves to a delicious ice cream (also served at the bakery) from Bodalla Ice Cream after our meal.
Our favourite dish: The classic steak pie is hard to go past.

2. THE BLUE SWIMMER: GERROA
Why we love them: Delicious food and great service in a relaxed location with a view of the beautiful Gerroa Foreshore that is equally accessible for a casual meal as it is for something more hearty.
Our favourite dish: You can't go past fresh seafood by the beach, so go for the Market Fish.

3. PENNY WHISTLERS: KIAMA
Why we love them: Serving food and coffee all day, it’s great to know there’s somewhere to stop and fill up regardless of the time of day.
Our favourite dish: The fish tacos pico de gallo, guacamole, slaw, pickled onion, chilli lime mayo

4. BODALLA BAKERY: BODALLA
Why we love them: A quaint and charming spot that is known for their cakes, you can feel a great sense of community at this local venue run by husband and wife team Dave and Sharan Callender.
Our favourite dish: The classic scones with jam, cream and strawberries.
