Known as an area that is home to some of the most picturesque beaches in the world, the Jervis Bay area is a photographer's paradise. Here we list five of our favourite spots to capture the perfect shot, from striking blue waters to unique beaches and even a dry-land location.

1. HONEYMOON BAY

The shot: This incredible beach houses waters of various shades of blue and turquoise, so still and clear thanks to the unique geography of a small straight body of whatever that comes into a circular cove. The highlight here is the colour of the water, which you can capture perfectly from the beach so long as the sun is out and wind is down, but if you’re lucky enough to be in the area on a boat or have access to a drone with a camera (I know we’re really stretching it now…) you can get a stunning shot looking back into the bay capturing the uniqueness of its almost perfect circular shape.

Where to find it: Corner Lighthouse Road and Currarong Road, Currarong NSW

2. HYAMS BEACH

The shot: This incredible beach is the most famous in the area and frequently sits high on lists of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Hyams beach is known for its squeaky white sands and incredible turquoise waters. We love the view on the path down as you see this stunning beach creep into view through the native vegetation that winds down to the beach, and whilst you can capture a beautiful shot simply from the beach, we think it’s worth the effort to include this area too.

Where to find it: Cyrus Street, Hyams Beach NSW

3. HUSKISSON PICTURES

The shot: A change up from the more popular beach themed photography in this area, this classic cinema has retained its facade from the 1930s and has a distinct old-world charm. You don’t need to overcomplicate things when it comes to getting a great photo, just head for the outside of the building and capture it front on. Whilst it looks great in the daytime, we do think it looks particularly pretty at night as a string of fairy lights illuminates the frame of the roof.

Where to find it: 19 Sydney St, Huskisson NSW

4. HOLE IN THE WALL BEACH

The shot: This unique beach gets its name from a sandstone rock wall located at the northern end of the beach that (you guessed it) has a hole in it which looks a bit more like a U-Shape these days thanks to ongoing erosion. Whilst there are various interesting spots to capture some great photos here thanks to its interesting rocky outcrops, to get the perfect shot, you’ll need to set your alarm and get here as the sun is rising. At this time, get in the right spot as the sun lines up to peek through the hole in the wall and create an otherworldly scene.

Where to find it: Hole in the Wall Access Track, Jervis Bay JBT
