Narooma to Jervis Bay: Turquoise Territories

Between Narooma and Jervis Bay the New South Wales coast is dotted with tranquil lakes, fresh seafood and otherworldly turquoise beaches.

Sample some of the best beaches of the Southern NSW coastline with this short itinerary that is perfect for travellers of all types.

Distance: 3 Stops, 194 km total drive distance

📍 STOP 1: NAROOMA

Where to stay in Narooma?
Whilst we love all there is to do and see in Narooma, you’ll find us staying a short 15 minute drive up the road at the incredible Beachcomber Holiday Park on Potato Point. With an idyllic location, absolute beach frontage and a strong eco-friendly set of values, this Park is one of the area’s best kept secrets where you’ll find yourself waking up surrounded by wallabies and with an incredible view.

What to do, eat and drink Narooma?
With beautiful beaches and nature abound, this is a place to spend time outdoors. Our favourite activity is to get over to nearby Montague Island and snorkel around the Australian fur seals. Food wise, Queen Chow at the Whale Inn is one of the town's newest additions and a great spot to enjoy Cantonese classics in a refined atmosphere with incredible views. If you’re looking to indulge in seafood about as fresh as it gets, Narooma Bridge seafood offers both live and cooked lobsters - all locally caught of course.

What's the onward drive to Cudmirrah Beach?
Two and a quarter hours on the road and you'll find yourself at Cudmirrah Beach.

📍 STOP 2: CUDMIRRAH BEACH

Where to stay in Cudmirrah Beach?
One of the more unique properties in the area, Surfside Cudmirrah Beach Holiday Park is located just metres from the beach. If we’re leaving the van at home, this is one of our favourite spots to book a cabin. The beautiful new weatherboard cabins tended to with care by the owner/managers offer all the creature comforts of a hotel, with the bonus of an incredible holiday park location.

What to do, eat and drink in Cudmirrah Beach?
With a surf beach and inlet system, this is a place for swimmers of all levels. If you fancy a surf, there’s plenty of nearby breaks ranging from beginner to expert. For amenity your best bet is to head to the nearby Sussex Inlet township. Pelican Shores is our favourite spot for Breakfast and coffee, and you can’t go past the local Bowlo for an afternoon drink.

What's the onward drive to Jervis Bay?
Just half an hour up the road is our next stop in Jervis Bay.

📍 STOP 3: JERVIS BAY

Where to stay in Jervis Bay?
Jervis Bay Holiday Park is one of our favourite parks in the country. This family operated park sits in a beautiful setting on the absolute edge of Currambene Creek and is incredibly well maintained. We love the addition of the coffee cart available for those not wanting to go far for their morning caffeine fix.

What to do, eat and drink in Jervis Bay?
Immediately make your way to the white sands and crystal clear waters of Hyams Beach. There’s a reason many have it high on many people’s lists of the best beaches in Australia (and the world!) and a visit to the Jervis Bay area is not complete without some good time spent here. In the main town of Huskisson you’ll find a plethora of options if you’ve worked up an appetite, our favourite is the friendly atmosphere, fresh food and perfectly located Huskisson Hotel.

What's the onward drive?
This itinerary ends here but there's plenty of more great coast to discover between here and Wollongong if you keep heading north.
