Given the remote setting, most of your meals will need to be self-catered. For those camping there’s a well-maintained Camp Kitchen with all the basics, plus BBQs and plenty of scenic picnic spots to set up with a view. The cabins and villas all have private outdoor BBQs. Please note, if you’re taking up the Remote Camping option you’ll need your own cooking equipment.
The Kiosk sells essentials and snacks. They also have homemade beef jerky which is a popular trail snack. Beer, wine and spirits are also available.
If you’re coming through Orroroo (around 50 minute drive from the Park), stop in at TwoFarmers Daughters. It’s a small-town cafe run by a local family that serves up excellent coffee, freshly baked goods and loaded toasties. There’s a small section of fresh produce for you to take back to your cabin or campsite. We went for the chicken and salad wrap - fresh, filling, and ideal fuel before a hike through the Flinders trails.
Orroroo IGA is the best bet for stocking up on groceries and water.
Bendleby is known across Australia for its two rugged mountain ranges and network of self-drive 4WD tracks. Whether you're experienced or new to off-roading, there's a trail suited to your confidence level - from scenic drives to technical rock crawls.
Bendleby’s network of station tracks and rugged terrain isn’t just for 4WDs - mountain bikers can also get involved. While there are no purpose-built MTB trails, the wide-open fire tracks and hilly sections offer plenty of off-road fun, especially for intermediate to experienced riders.
Prefer two feet to four wheels? There are several marked walking trails ranging from casual strolls to half-day treks. Highlights include Billy Goat Ridge, Hidden Valley, and Pats Lookout, each offering different perspectives of the Flinders terrain.
With minimal light pollution, the night skies here are extraordinary. Lay back by the fire and see if you can spot the Milky Way or a shooting star.
Wildlife watchers area also in the right place - Kangaroos, emus, echidnas, and a range of birdlife are commonly spotted, especially at dawn and dusk.
If you're looking to explore the region further, just over an hour’s drive south-east of the park, Peterborough is a must-visit for those with a soft spot for history and heritage. Once a thriving railway hub, the town has reinvented itself with attractions like the Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre. There, you can step inside restored carriages and witness the impressive sound-and-light show held nightly inside the original railway roundhouse. It’s an immersive way to dive into local history.
There’s a Telstra signal at the Kiosk, but reception elsewhere is limited. For the best signal across all carriers, head to one of the nearby high ridges, like Sunset Ridge.
Check In is 2pm and Check Out is 10am for all accommodation. Please contact the park if you plan to arrive later than 6pm.
Pets are welcome on all Powered and Unpowered Sites - just let the park know after booking. Acacia Cottage is the only pet-friendly cabin or villa option.
