If you’re planning to keep things simple, the park has the basics covered. There’s a Camp Kitchen and BBQ facilities on site, making it easy to cook breakfast before heading out or enjoy a relaxed dinner back at your site or cabin.
For your morning coffee, head straight to Finally Mine Coffee House, a much-loved spot known for consistently good coffee and a friendly, no-fuss vibe. It’s the kind of place where locals start their day, which is always a good sign. AM.PM Coffee is another solid option nearby. We enjoyed a smooth long black and a flakey ham and cheese croissant.
When lunchtime rolls around, Dan Bakery and Cafe is a standout. This is our go-to for something easy, filling and affordable. Their Vietnamese rolls are excellent, generously packed and perfect to take away for a picnic in one of Traralgon’s nearby parks.
For dinner, a classic pub meal at Grand Junction Hotel is hard to beat. This is a true local institution, offering hearty bistro favourites, cold beers and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a great place to unwind at the end of the day and soak up a bit of local character.
If you feel like something a little more refined, Stellina is the pick for Italian and is appointed in a historic building that dates back to 1875. It’s well regarded for its fresh pasta and polished but relaxed dining experience. Ideal for a slower evening where you can settle in, share a bottle of wine and enjoy a proper sit-down meal.
For something sweet, Augustus Gelatery is well worth a visit. Open 365 days a year, this local favourite serves up generous scoops of gelato and sorbet alongside creamy milkshakes and tempting cakes. Flavours change regularly, so there’s always something new to try, whether you lean towards the classics or like to experiment. It’s an easy stop after dinner or a perfect afternoon treat while exploring Traralgon.
There’s plenty to enjoy both locally and within an easy drive of the park, making this a great base for low-effort exploring.
A favourite nearby outing is Moe Botanic Gardens, around a 15 minute drive away. Set around a series of lakes, the gardens are ideal for a gentle stroll, a relaxed picnic or simply stretching the legs amongst landscaped grounds and water views. It’s an easy, unrushed way to spend a morning or afternoon.
If you’re travelling with kids, the Traralgon Miniature Railway is a fun and slightly unexpected highlight. Run by passionate volunteers, the miniature train offers short rides that are especially popular on weekends and event days. It’s simple, nostalgic fun and a nice way to fill an hour close to town.
For something more active, the Moe–Yallourn Rail Trail is well worth your time. This flat, well-maintained trail follows the route of an old railway line and is perfect for walking or cycling. You can tackle a short section or spend a few hours exploring at your own pace, passing through bushland and open countryside along the way.
This Park is a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the Latrobe Valley but it is not a resort style experience, so plan to get out and about rather than spending the whole stay on site.
Check In is 2pm and Check Out is 10am for all accommodation.
Pets are welcome on all campsites and cabins.
